Synthesia's published plans meter credits from one shared pool. So do ours, and the two credits are not the same size, which is why the numbers on the two pricing pages cannot be read side by side. This page does the conversion both of them leave to you, then says the thing arithmetic cannot settle: on their plans the presenter is a ready-made avatar, or a personal avatar on a plan that includes one, and here the presenter is you. One photo, one short consent recording, and the person on screen is the person who signed for it.
Both price lists meter credits. Only one puts your own face on screen.

Is Kyndrify a good Synthesia alternative?
Sometimes. Kyndrify is for one person or a small team who want their own face and voice on screen. You need one clear photo, a short consent recording and a script. Your own script on your own twin starts on Plus, $49 a month billed yearly, where the talking-head rail bills 152 credits a second with a 120-credit floor. It does not import slides, documents or SCORM courses.

You turn documents into training
Their learning page sells PDFs, documents and weblinks going in and finished video coming out, and they run a separate converter for PowerPoint files. We import none of that, and we are not going to pretend a script box is the same thing.
You publish into a learning system
Their learning page says you can "embed it anywhere (including LMSs)". We give you a file.
You need a lot of languages
Their published plans list "160+ languages & voices". Speech and dubbing here work in ten.
You need volume, and any presenter will do
Their Creator column reads "Usable for up to 30 mins of video" a month, and "up to 360 mins of video" on the yearly column. A month of Plus is about 3.1 minutes of twin video. If the job is thirty short updates a month and nobody minds who reads them, that is their plan, not ours.

So on finished presenter video per dollar, they win, and it is not close. We are not going to dress that up.
What our credits reach that theirs do not is the rest of the work. An image starts at 20 credits, and the top quality is 300 credits at square size, more for a portrait or landscape frame. Narration in your saved voice is 3 credits a second. A transcript is 1 credit a second, with a 20-credit floor. An export out of the editor is 20 credits a second, with a 60-credit floor. One Workspace, one pool, no second subscription.
The honest summary. If you need a lot of presenter video and the presenter can be anyone, their credits go further. If you need a modest amount of video that is unmistakably you, plus the images, narration and transcripts that go around it, ours do. Our pricing page shows every plan, and the free grant is 8,400 credits with no card.
How we read their pages
Every Synthesia figure on this page was read from Synthesia's own public pages, and the link sits beside the row. Checked September 2026. We did not test their product against ours, so nothing here is a speed, quality or accuracy claim.
Each row is read twice, one row at a time, left to right. A whole-table transcription and a single-row read of the same grid returned different values for two cells, so the single-row pair governs, and a figure two of those reads disagree on is struck rather than printed. Their monthly and yearly columns are two different columns of the same plan, with different credit units and different ceilings, so neither is ever quoted under the other's price.
Where a figure of theirs is disputed, the reading that runs against our own argument is the one we print: their Starter column's personal-avatar count is the worked example. The other comparison we hold to these rules is the HeyGen alternative.

- Yes, and it is the reason this product exists. One clear photo and a short consent recording make a Digital Twin, and on the Free plan it says one short sample line so you can see and hear yourself before you pay. Your own scripts on your own twin start on Plus. Every render checks that the consent is current, so a withdrawn or expired record stops the render rather than quietly working. Pick an Avatar instead when you want a synthetic presenter and no ceremony.
- What happens to my face and voice?
- A real person's Digital Twin needs a current consent record before it can render anything. Withdraw it and the twin stops rendering. Videos and images made on the Free plan carry a small visible mark, and it comes off from Plus and above. Built-in AI labelling is still rolling out across output types, so write the disclosure line yourself rather than assuming the file carries it. Our biometric notice, linked above, sets out what we hold and for how long.
- Do you have single sign-on and a retention policy we can set?
- Not yet. Single sign-on, a custom retention window and a custom domain are not available today, and we would rather write that than let you find out in procurement. Extra seats are $20 a person a month, and Ultra includes five. If those controls are the shape of your buying decision, we are not the right tool yet, and we would rather you heard it here than on a security questionnaire.
