Kyndrify vs Luma

Both tools can help you make video. They do quite different jobs.

Kyndrify builds a Twin from your own face and voice. You give it a script. The Twin then speaks as you. Dream Machine makes and edits clips with models such as Ray3.

Pick by the result you need. We checked each fact on 2026-07-15.

The short answer

Choose Dream Machine when you need new scenes or want to edit a clip. Its web plans use credits each month. Some plans allow paid work. Some do not.

Choose Kyndrify when you must be the host. It logs your consent before a Render. Each Render has an AI notice, C2PA Content Credentials, and a forensic watermark.

You may also use both. A host clip and a new scene need not come from the same tool.

What Dream Machine is built to do

Dream Machine is a tool for art and video. Its help site lists tools for images, clips, edits, new frames, and size boosts. It also lists a set of Ray models.

It can fit when you need a new shot, not a host. You might make a short mood scene. You might test a look, edit old film, or make one more cutaway.

Credit cost shifts with the model, clip length, size, and options. The price page gives one clear case. Ray3.14 costs 100 credits for five seconds at 720p. It costs 400 credits for five seconds at 1080p. Those rates do not apply to all clips.

See the current Dream Machine plans and credit table before you choose settings.

What Kyndrify is built to do

Kyndrify puts your own face and voice at the core. A Twin uses both once they pass its checks. It logs consent before it makes a Render. Each Render has an AI notice, C2PA Content Credentials, and a forensic watermark.

The source page says you pay per Render, not through credits each month. It also says the Studio has tools for video, ads, product shots, and voice. The brand notes that high-volume avatar shops and staff training tools may be a better fit for some buyers.

Read the Kyndrify source page for those facts.

A Twin can be built from a photo and a short voice clip. Long scripts can be split and joined as one video. The trial lasts seven days. It gives you one full minute and needs no card. See the Kyndrify sales page.

Dream Machine web pricing

We checked these web plan rates on 2026-07-15. Luma can change them. Check the source once more before you pay.

Web plan Monthly price Monthly credits Commercial use and watermark
Free $0 Limited Non-commercial; watermarks
Lite $9.99 3,200 Non-commercial; watermarks
Plus $29.99 10,000 Commercial use; no watermarks
Unlimited $94.99 10,000 Fast Mode credits, then unlimited Relaxed Mode Commercial use; no watermarks
Enterprise Contact Luma 20,000 Commercial use; no watermarks

Lite has full Ray3 use, 4K up-res, and a high place in the queue. Plus adds HDR and use for paid work. Unlimited adds Relaxed Mode when its Fast Mode credits run out.

“Unlimited” does not keep each job in the fast queue. Once the Fast Mode credits are gone, new jobs move to the slow Relaxed Mode queue.

Unused plan credits do not roll to the next month. Top-up credits are sold on their own and last one year. Web plan credits and API credits are not the same.

Kyndrify pricing and trial

Kyndrify charges per Render. This can suit a buyer who does not want credits each month. Our source set has no live cash rate. Check the site's price page before you set a budget.

The seven-day trial gives you one full minute and needs no card. Use it to test the Twin flow. Do not weigh it against a Luma plan until you know the shot you need.

When Dream Machine fits better

Dream Machine is the clearer fit when:

  • You need generated or modified visual shots.
  • You want to work with Luma's image and video models.
  • You can budget with monthly credits.
  • Your chosen plan permits the intended use.
  • A verified on-screen presenter is not the main deliverable.

Check the plan before paid work. Web Free and Lite do not allow it and add a watermark. Web Plus and Unlimited allow it and have no watermark.

When Kyndrify fits better

Kyndrify is the clearer fit when:

  • Your own verified face and voice must present the script.
  • Consent needs to be recorded before rendering.
  • AI disclosure and provenance are part of the brief.
  • You prefer pay-per-render use over monthly credits.
  • You want to split and stitch a longer presenter script.

These are fit gaps. They do not mean one tool has more speed or looks best.

A practical buying test

Write down the exact final shot before comparing prices.

If the line says, “I need to tell my own tale,” test the Twin flow. If it says, “I need a new five-second product scene,” price the right Luma model and setup.

Then check four items:

  1. Does the plan allow your intended commercial use?
  2. Does it include the resolution and mode you need?
  3. Will unused credits expire before you use them?
  4. Does the output need verified identity and disclosure?

This test stops you from weighing the cost of two unlike shots.
